Miley Cyrus Flowers is not something I had on my bingo card for 2023. DJ Red Sonya has turned me into a fan of Miley. Just before Miley Cyrus dropped her new song called Flowers, she teased a few clips.
Teaser #1 was all it took. I went to work immediately after hearing the record skipping sounds and the looped vocal. The first order of business was to loop her voice and pick a tempo. 118 beats per minute is where it landed and I didn’t look back. Enter Roland’s trifecta. The venerable TR-909 and TR-808 drum machines and TB-303 bass line and we have what we hear now.

In this Techno Teaser #1 dub remix, Miley’s vocal looped becomes another instrument. This to me is a lesson in dance music. Filtered and looped vocals are a mainstay of Techno and will always have a special place in my heart. This vocal being the extremely talented, iconic and amazing Miley Cyrus, makes it even better. I can love me better. I can.
